Access to Information
We provide essential access to appropriate information, support and guidance about issues relating to sight loss.

Moving-On
Are you newly diagnosed partially sighted or blind? Our Moving-On course is aimed at helping newly diagnosed visually impaired adults to come to terms with their condition and access the support and services they need. Each course consists of six 3- hour workshops that include information and support through discussion groups and presentations, which are delivered by expert facilitators who have either a personal experience or a professional understanding of visual impairment. The workshops are held weekly at venues across Wiltshire and Swindon. For information about 2012 venues and dates ,check out the Moving On page or call us on 01380 723682.

Resources
At our Resource Centre, specialist equipment is available for demonstration or purchase that will enable clients to make informed decisions about how to make the most of residual vision.

Home Visits
Our dedicated team of Caseworkers visit people in their homes and provide information, support and guidance about benefits, daily living equipment and services available for visually impaired people in their area.

Clubs
We also run thirteen Clubs countywide which vary from Craft, Social, half day, full day or just a couple of hours meeting in a coffee shop for friendship and fellowship.

Helpdesk
Our Helpdesk at the Great Western Hospital , Swindon provides help and support to those visiting the Eye Clinic at the hospital.

Talking Newspapers
From our headquarters we also support Talking Newspapers (national and local) providing a lifeline to many of our clients plus a well stocked audio library that is administered by our volunteers.

Provision of Grants
The provision of Grants to visually impaired people for equipment, education, learning skills, sport, travel, holidays, access to activities and support for ‘top up funds’ are all considered through our Members Action Committee.

Large Print Newsletters
The WBA produce a large print Newsletter, audio cassette and CD which provides essential information to our members and keeps them up to date with local, regional and national issues relating to visual impairment.

Holidays
Our holiday programme provides visually impaired people with a chance to enjoy seaside and activity holidays with their carers.

Canoeing activity holiday

We can help in the provision of grants for equipment, education, learning skills, sport, travel, holidays and access to activities.
