Sponsored events and challenges

There are many sponsored challenges to take part in to raise money for the Wiltshire Blind Association from sky diving to running a marathon. If you are interested in taking on a challenge, please get in touch and we will help support you in organising your event.

Saturday 3 March, 2012 - The Daring Daisy Firewalk

Imagine walking over hot coals measuring 800 degrees centigrade! That's what WBA supporter Philip Hendy will be doing when he completes his charity firewalk. Sunday 1 April , 2012 - Fun Run at Bowood

The Rotary Club of Calne Annual Charity 10 km Fun Run and walk is being held on Sunday 1st April 2012 around Bowood Park. There will be a staggered start from 10.00am for serious runners and then at 10.05 for walkers. Booking forms are on the Calne Rotary Club website. Entry fee is £5 in advance or £6 on the day. Funds raised from the 2012 Fun Run will support the Wiltshire Blind Association and Calne Welfare Charities.

Sunday 22 April, 2012 - Virgin London Marathon 2012

Devizes Running Club members Alan Stephens and Alistair Bissett will be putting on their running shoes and taking part in the London Marathon. All monies raised by them will be donated to the Wiltshire Blind Association. We are expecting the boys to run a time of about three and a half hours. Donate Now via Just Giving

Sunday 6 May, 2012 - May Day Fair and Dog Show

Our second fun dog show and fete takes place in Devizes on the Green on Sunday 6 May from 11 am. This year an even bigger event is planned with fun for all the family as well as the dog show. .Click here to see all the photos of the 2011 dog show winners.

Sunday 10th June, 2012 - Bowood Charity Dog Show and Summer Fair

The event is run annually by Lady Lansdowne to support Macmillan Cancer Support and local charities, including the Wiltshire Blind Association. A fabulous day out whether you have a dog or not ! Visit the website for details of this year's event. Click to visit website

11th - 16th June, 2012 - Bright 4 Sight

Bright 4 Sight is our local awareness and fundraising appeal that takes place during National Eye Care Week (11th -16th June). It is fun, simple and for a great cause! Support us to help people living locally with sight loss in by jumping into your most colourful clothing. Wear it to work, school or college and donate £1 to the Wiltshire Blind Association. You could wear your brightest tee shirt, your most outrageous outfit, or even a colourful hairdo. You could hold a coffee morning in your home or even a colourful cake bake.
